Catherine Adams, LPC, ATR, RYT-200

Catherine is a Registered Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor who primarily structures her practice through the utilization of Person Centered and Cognitive development. She specializes in working with children, teens and young adults who are combating struggles such as stress and anxiety, grief and loss, identity confusion, social anxiety, life transitions or major changes, and processing fears resulted from trauma or traumatic events. She typically works with diagnoses involving Autism Spectrum Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, ADHD, Attachment and Adjustment disorders. Catherine aims to create a unique space and opportunity for children to safely and vividly express, grow and discover who they are and what they need. Art is communication and Art Therapy allows for that second form of communication to speak louder and more revealing than words. Her previous experience involves working in a private school, residential treatment and acute care psychiatric facilities.
Catherine received her Master’s degree in Art Therapy with a Specialization in Counseling as well as Masters Certificate in Autism from Seton Hill University. She enjoys creating her own art work through drawing and watercolor, practicing yoga and photography.
